My Experience
In my therapeutic work -
I graduated from Pacific Oaks College with a specialization in trauma. I have experience in private practice settings working with clients in all age groups, supporting them through life transitions, parenting, grief, trauma, OCD, anxiety, depression, postpartum, women’s health, ADHD, couples, and relationships.
I have worked in public school settings supporting adolescents with various struggles, including grief, trauma, anxiety, and depression. I have also worked in schools as an ERMHS (Educationally Related Mental Health Services) therapist, providing support to adolescents on the autism spectrum, ADHD, trauma, and with learning challenges.
Before my work as a therapist -
I worked for six years as a Registered Behavior Technician working with children, adolescents, and adults on the Autism Spectrum. I have worked in crisis settings providing behavior support and coaching to the families and caregivers of neurodivergent children.
While in grad school, I worked as an Infant Developmental Specialist, working with ages 0-3 with developmental delays. It was during this time that I found my love of working with parents during the postpartum period. Then, as I went through my own pregnancy and postpartum, I learned how truly life-changing the experience is as a woman and as a parent, and my passion grew even more.
I am now pursuing the path to getting certified in perinatal mental health, so I can support more women and parents during the pregnancy and postpartum period.
My Approach
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most important component to healing. My work as a therapist is grounded in the belief that our experience in life and our relationships with our parents and family greatly influence who we are and how we have come to be. It is important to look at the whole family system and recognize the impact that each person’s experiences and relationships have on one another.
Our work involves healing those early attachment wounds and understanding why we do the things that we do. I want you to feel safe and supported in our sessions together. At the beginning of sessions, my sole focus is on getting to know your story and what matters most to you.
I hope to help you accept the things that have happened to you and the scars that they have left, while also learning how to move forward. While trauma does have a lasting impact, I hope my clients feel that healing is possible and that trauma does not have to be who they are, but instead something that happened to them. At the end of therapy, I want my clients to feel empowered, hopeful, and capable of living the life they want.
